World Wide Animagus Agency
An Animagus is usually registered with the agency after their first witnessed transformation, which can take place at any age. If the Animagus is under 8 years of age they are placed in the YAC (Young Animagus Club) which they attend after school under the guise of Young Achievers Club for talented youngsters. If the Animagus is 8 years of age or older they attend SAT1 (Standard Agency Training), during which they undergo tests and examinations to loosely pre-determine their path in the agency and to pick out those capable of entering the specialist sectors. If they are 8-12 years of age, they become a secretary for the agency and can opt for additional training until they are 13. Those that are 13 years of ago or older are given the option of becoming a secretary, with a view to that being a permanent fixture for them, or undergoing the additional training to become an agent, SAT2 - Specific Agent Training. Preparation classes for the 'Statutory Assessment Tests' was the original cover for the SAT's until the government stopped using these. Society of Academic Talent is the new cover for the SAT's.
The Vast majority of Animagi that join the W.W.A.A. become an agent sometime in their agency career. Exceptions include 8-12 year old who are fast-tracked to specialist sectors and Animagi who choose to follow either the security path or the secretary path from the start. After becoming an agent an Animagus has many choices as to which path they wish to take through the agency. Whether they get their wish depends on their performance and capabilities.
Classic Path
This pathway is at the centre of the agency. Everyone else in the agency answers to these Animagi to some degree. With each step up an Animagi gains power and responsibility and becomes more involved in the agency's actions and functions. Good leadership skills are needed to progress along this pathway. Animagi higher up in this pathway have generally had a lot of experience in the lower sectors.
Agent Path
This pathway is for those Animagi who prefer to be in the field carrying out missions for the agency and wish to get recognition for their achievements. Progression along this pathway provides the agents with more freedom to use their own initiative while carrying out missions and increasing access to better agency equipment. The most experienced agents have almost unlimited access to agency resources, but their job is more dangerous and more physically and mentally demanding than agents lower down the agency.
Secretary Path
This pathway was designed for the less physically able Animagi, or for those who preferred to be at a desk rather than in the field. But in fact, without it, the agency would not be able to function properly. The secretaries are the nervous system of the agency, handling and passing on information, organising meetings and processing data and intelligence at various levels of the agency. Moving up through this department results in busier schedules, more responsibility and demands dedication and great concentration.
Security Path
This pathway is for Animagi who do not wish to be at a desk, but do not wish to be in the field carrying out missions either, although they may be asked to in an emergency. There are six different levels of security, each with its own responsibilities. At levels 0, 1 and 2 the Animagi are required to guard buildings, facilities or equipment. At level 3 the Animagi are required to guard Animagi jails, important people or important information/artefacts. Top Security Animagi or Level 4 are responsible for organising and commanding all lower level security. Also, their expertise is enlisted to guard agency secrets and high level intelligence. At level 5 the Animagi become slightly detached from the agency in order that it can claim plausible deniability over their actions. What they are required to do is highly classified and information concerning them is given on a strictly 'need to know' basis.
Specialist Sectors
The bright sparks among the Animagi community are picked out from the crowd early on in their agency career and fast-tracked to the specialist sectors. These sectors require sharp minds, high IQ's and particular qualities. If an Animagus is chosen to be in one of the specialist sectors while they are still attending school they will be transferred to a private, agency run school so that they may receive the required education they need to perform well in their particular sector.
Physical, Chemical and Medical Science Sectors
All the Animagi technology is invented and constructed by the scientists. Jets, mission suits, poisons, laser-guns, automatic healers etc. Animagi with high IQ's and scientific minds are transferred here and taught by already established WWAA scientists from their field.
Funding
The agency's efforts require a lot of money and the people that work in this sector are the ones that get it. Disguising their buildings as schools, academic societies, human medical research centres, power stations and other similar establishments, provides them with funding from the government. The function of the funding sector is to keep these disguises, fake results where necessary or censor real results, deal with inspections and relevant paperwork, ensure funding is distributed appropriately around the agency and to replace old disguises. Charisma, creativity and good organisation are the essential requirements for working in this sector.
Foreign Relations
Each and every agency within the W.W.A.A. must have good relationships with all the others, so that they can function together as a world wide agency, deal with global threats as one, perform missions in each others countries and avoid what could be catastrophic disputes between different groups of Animagi. The Animagi that ensure these relationships are maintained along with the flow of required information between agencies, are those who are in Foreign Relations. A strong character, diplomatic skills and impeccable people skills are the basic requirements for this sector. The will to learn and use a variety of languages is also highly valued.
Intelligence
The Animagi in the Intelligence sector are the eyes and ears of the agency in human society. They observe and report anything interesting they come across. Their main objectives included finding unregistered Animagi, watching known Animagi that are under suspicion of being involved in criminal activity and keep an eye out for wanted Animagi criminals. The Animagi employed in this sector have all the qualities of agents but are more observant and discrete and skilled in collating information.
